How does a story come together in photographs? Join The Post and Courier’s photojournalists for a discussion on the importance of visual narrative and how that impacts news stories.
Photojournalists Andrew Whitaker and Gavin McIntyre will share their experiences of working on long-form stories. They’ll also take a deep dive to share the differences with visual led stories and how that enhances a reader’s experience as well as how critical it is to spend time with the people they photograph to capture the moment meaningfully.
Stories they'll discuss include:
Nearly 14,000 in SC have died during the COVID pandemic. Here's one family's story.
Autism was already a challenge for one SC family. Then came a pandemic.
'I Am Omar': A quest for the true identity of Omar ibn Said, a Muslim man enslaved in the Carolinas
Moderated by Visuals Editor Matthew Fortner.
