Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Henry Tisdale, former president of Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC. Dr. Tisdale, a Kingstree, South Carolina native and 1965 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Claflin University, was named his Alma Mater’s eighth president in 1994. Dr. Tisdale began his career in higher education after receiving the Ph.D. and M.A. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College and a M.Ed. in Mathematics from Temple University. Dr. Tisdale is responsible for major improvements at Claflin University, one of the best historically black colleges and universities in the state.

Our honorary guest for the event is The Honorable Judge J. Michelle Childs. Judge Childs was appointed to the United States Courtof Appeals for the DC Circuit in 2022. Before that she was appointed to the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and served as a South Caro-lina state circuit court judge
